    Two Rivers Police Department: 18-year-old arrested after allegedly starting fire at Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park

    TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Two Rivers say they arrested an 18-year-old man Sunday afternoon for allegedly setting a dugout at a baseball field on fire.

    According to a release from the Two Rivers Police Department , officers, along with firefighters from the Two Rivers Fire Department, responded at 2:43 p.m. to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park on 1300 35th Street for reports of a fire.

    Once on scene, officials say they found one of the baseball field’s dugouts fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the fire with damage estimated to be about $7,000.

    Police reportedly found two other spots around the park where it appeared attempts were made to start fires.

    Officers say the suspect, 18-year-old Jeremiah Biel, was found nearby and arrested on the following charges:

    • 943.02 (1)(a) Arson of Buildings (Felony)
    • 946.49 (1)(a) Misdemeanor Bail Jumping
    • 946.49 (1)(b) Felony Bail Jumpin
