Fire officials said they received a call for animal rescue at the home on SW 143rd Loop shortly after 7 p.m.

A man had reported that his dog, Bella, fell into a hole about 14 feet deep.

According to the fire department, Bella is about the size of a five-year-old child, and the crews used the same skills needed to rescue a small child to get her out of the hole.

Bella was safely returned to her owner.

Huh….a couple of years ago our young cat went missing and it after two weeks we spotted her 30 ft up in a neighbors tree. We could not reach her and she couldn’t get down. We called animal services and they told us to call fire rescue. First we went to the fire house 2 blocks from our house and we were told they “don’t do animals”. We called animal services again and they contacted sheriff’s office who told us to call for fire rescue. We did…. They brought a firetruck with ladders to tell us they would not get the cat and asked us if the cat was worth the cost of a rental ladder!!! As we all stood in disbelief at their response, my husband left and rented a extended ladder and my 17 year old son climbed without a harness to get the cat, which he did NO THANKS TO THEM!! I guess they hung around in case my 65 year old husband or 17 year old son fell off the ladder!!But whats the cost of a rental ladder on top of $3,000 A YEAR IN TAXES🙄I guess they are dog people….
