Pinpoint Weather: Spotty showers Tuesday, seasonably warm

ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR ) – On Tuesday, spotty showers are possible in Southwest and Central Virginia. Otherwise, the mostly dry weather pattern is expected to continue.

A disturbance will bring some light rain showers and additional cloud cover to the region on Tuesday. However, it won’t be a complete washout. Variably cloudy skies will be overhead as temperatures rise into the upper 70s and lower 80s by the afternoon.

High pressure to the north will aid in mostly dry conditions for Wednesday and Thursday. Morning lows will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s while afternoon temperatures will rise into the upper 70s and lower/middle 80s under a mix of sun and clouds. Stray rain showers cannot be ruled out each day.

There is an increasing chance of showers and storms overnight Thursday, but more so on Friday. The dry high-pressure system will exit the region and moist air will filter in from the south.

Expect scattered showers and storms on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Widespread all-day rain is not anticipated, but stay weather-aware if you have any outdoor plans.

TRACKING THE TROPICS

Tropical Storm Ernesto will impact the Leeward Islands on Tuesday. The storm will approach the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico by Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning before turning northward. It could become a hurricane on Thursday before moving toward Bermuda.
