Pinpoint Weather: Showers and storms through the weekend

ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR ) – Chances of showers and storms continue this afternoon and evening through the weekend. There is a slight chance for brief periods of heavy rainfall today and isolated strong to severe storms on Saturday.

There is a marginal risk of excessive rainfall today and a marginal risk of strong to severe storms on Saturday. For both, marginal is the lowest risk level.

High temperatures this afternoon will be in the upper 70s to middle to upper 80s.

Saturday will start in the 60s and be warmer with highs in the 80s to lower 90s.

Both days will see a chance of showers and storms. Rain chances continue Monday with the rest of the week looking dry. Normal rainfall amounts can be expected into the last week of August.

Temperatures will be at or above normal through Monday and then fall to below normal for the rest of the week.
