ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR ) — Mostly dry and slightly cooler weather conditions are anticipated for the next few days as high pressure builds into Southwest and Central Virginia.

Northwest winds will steer cooler and drier air into the region. This will result in low rain chances, less humidity, and slightly cooler-than-average temperatures throughout the week.

For Tuesday, morning temperatures will start in the 50s and 60s. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies will be overhead for the day with afternoon temperatures reaching the 70s.

Southwest and Central Virginia will get a taste of early fall on Wednesday and Thursday. Under mostly clear skies, morning temperatures will start in the crisp 40s and 50s before warming up into the 70s by the afternoon.

While the dry weather will stick around a bit longer, a warming trend will begin on Friday. Highs will be in the 70s and lower 80s under mostly sunny skies. However, afternoon temperatures will return to the 80s over the weekend. Humidity levels will gradually increase, as well.
