    Man wanted by 4 agencies arrested in Henry County, hiding under trap door

    HENRY COUNTY, Va. ( WFXR ) – On August 20, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man wanted by several law enforcement agencies for a multitude of drug and other felony charges.

    On Tuesday, after receiving credible information, officers served a search warrant at a home on Jappa Road in Ridgeway for 44-year-old William Jackson Kennedy.

    Kennedy was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants from law enforcement agencies, including the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Martinsville Police Department, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, and the Virginia State Police.

    During the search, a trap door was located inside, and Kennedy was found hiding beneath the mobile home. The door allowed him to get beneath the home to hide.

    He was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the County Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Center without bond.

    William Jackson Kennedy has been charged with the following:

    Henry County Sheriff’s Office

    • 306 Probation Violation (Petit Larceny 3rd/Subsequent Offense)
    • Escape Custody (Probation Violation) Felony Shoplifting (Probation Violation)
    • Felony Elude Police (Probation Violation)
    • Possession of Ammunition by a Felon (Probation Violation)
    • Breaking and Entering with Intent to Commit Larceny (Probation Violation)
    • Grand Larceny (Probation Violation)

    Franklin County Sheriff’s Office

    • Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substances (Probation Violation)
    • Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I or II Controlled Substances
    • Driving While License Suspended

    City of Martinsville Police Department

    • Two counts of Probation Violation

    Virginia State Police

    • Felony Hit and Run
    • Driving While License Suspended
