Abandoned house in Hillsville engulfed with flames

HILLSVILLE, Va. ( WFXR ) – The Hillsville Fire Department responded to a structure fire on September 2.

On Sunday, crews arrived at an abandoned structure that was fully engulfed by flames. Ladder 1 began to work on extinguishing the fire by using the elevated master stream.

Once the flames were under control, responders used a handling to manage the remaining flames.

Agencies who assisted in controlling the structure fire included the Galax Fire Department, Carroll Fire-Rescue, Hillsville Police Department, and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

As of now, there is no information regarding how the fire started.
