    Man hospitalized with gunshot wound in Martinsville, police say

    MARTINSVILLE, Va. ( WFXR ) – Martinsville Police are currently investigating after a man was found with a gunshot wound on October 14.

    Police say around 9:49 p.m. on Monday, officers received information that a person had been shot on the 700 block of Corn Tassel Trail. On the scene, a 47-year-old Martinsville man was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body.

    Emergency responders with Martinsville EMS took the man to the hospital for treatment. The status of his condition is currently unknown.

    LPD charged man with felony in animal cruelty investigation

    Police say the investigation is ongoing. The scene has been processed for evidence and witnesses have been interviewed. There is no further threat to the public according to MPD.
