Pedestrian accident kills woman in Danville

DANVILLE, Va. ( WFXR ) – Danville Police are investigating a crash on Piney Forest Road that killed a 57-year-old woman on October 15.

According to DPD, around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the 1300 block of Piney Forest Road after reports of a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. On the scene, officers found 57-year-old Candace Cassidy hit by a Ford F-150.

Cassidy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, as well as witnesses of the crash, told police that Cassidy was in the center turning lane while the truck slowed down to turn when she was hit.

Danville PD says the crash is still under investigation.
