    Amherst County Fair returns with plenty of rides, music & family fun activities

    AMHERST COUNTY, Va. ( WFXR ) – The Amherst County Fair is back in 2024! The weather is expected to be nice and there is plenty of fun and activities for the entire family to enjoy.

    The event started on Thursday, October 17, and goes through October 20 located at Amherst County Fairgrounds, Sweet Briar Drive, Amherst, VA 24521

    There are games, rides, livestock competitions, live music from SupaFly 5 and Funky Bone, and other daily entertainment celebrating the county’s rich heritage, and agriculture.

    Gate times are as follows:

    • Gates open at 5 PM and the Midway at 6 PM on Thursday and Friday
    • All gates will close at 10 PM on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. All gates will close at 6 PM on Sunday
    • The Main Gate will close one hour early every day of the Fair

    General Parking is located at Old Stage Road and includes shuttles between the Fairgrounds and the parking area. Handicap/ADA parking is also available on E. Sweet Briar Drive, across from the Fairgrounds with proper Handicap identification.

    General Admission tickets are available at the gate and Ride bands can be pre-purchased online at https://amherstcountyfair.com/ .
