Illinois student teachers could see a $10K stipend from new bill passed by house

A student teacher teaches in a classroom the same hours the mentor teacher does. Without a stipend you have to teach for free, no money for 60-70 days of working. plus just because school is over student teacher day does not end. They have to go home and lesson plan, journal, and submit a paper to their professors. Who can live without a pay check for 60-70 days, I'll wait?
