    Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run crash in Skokie ID’d

    SKOKIE, Ill. — Police are searching for the vehicle involved in a deadly hit-and-run involving a bicyclist in north suburban Skokie.

    It happened around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 3500 block of Oakton Street, near the Skokie Sports Park.

    Upon arrival, police found that a vehicle traveling eastbound on Oakton Street collided with a 37-year-old man riding a bicycle. The man fell off the bike and another vehicle traveling eastbound on Oakton Street struck the man.

    The man was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as Carlos Medina.

    Police said one driver remained on the scene, the other did not. The fleeing vehicle was described as a dark-colored vehicle. No other details have been provided.

    The hit-and-run is under investigation.
