FBI investigating armed robbery at BMO Bank in Park Ridge

CHICAGO — An investigation is underway after a robbery at a bank in the northwest suburbs on Friday morning.

According to agents from the FBI’s Chicago Field Office, the robbery unfolded just after 11:30 a.m. at a BMO Bank in the 600 block of Busse Highway, in Park Ridge.

Agents said the robber, who was armed with a semi-automatic handgun, entered the bank and made a verbal demand for money.

Following the robbery, the perpetrator fled the scene on foot and no injuries were reported.

Agents say a search is now underway for the person responsible.

On Friday evening, agents provided photos captured by security cameras of the person believed to have been responsible.

According to agents, the perpetrator is believed to have been a man between 20 and 30 years of age, who stood between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 with a medium build.

During the robbery, the man was spotted wearing a black, long-sleeve zip-up hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, a black facial covering (possibly a gator), dark gray gloves with black latex palms and white writing on the back of the hands, blue jeans, black shoes with gray accents, and a dark backpack.
