    Crown Point city employee seriously injured in lift fall

    CROWN POINT, Ind. — A city employee for Crown Point was seriously injured and rescued by the fire department Wednesday following a fall.

    Just before 10:10 a.m., the Crown Point Fire Department was dispatched to the area of East 129th Avenue and Mississippi, just off US 231, for a confined space rescue.

    Crews at the scene discovered a City of Crown Point employee trapped at the bottom of a lift station after falling in.

    The employee was stabilized and airlifted to the University of Chicago Medical Center with serious injuries.

    OSHA was notified of the incident.
