Skokie approves re-development plan for Westfield Old Orchard

SKOKIE, Ill. – Skokie’s Plan Board has unanimously approved a re-development plan for Westfield Old Orchard.

The board unanimously approved the applications at Thursday night’s planning meeting, allowing the project to advance to the next phase, which involves a hearing with the Appearance Commission later this month.

Anticipated to break ground in 2025, the first phase of the development will include building nearly 400 luxury apartments and street-level retail, as well as a park and event space that will give Westfield Old Orchard the ability to host local events, concerts, farmers’ markets, and festivals.

The complex is slated to open to residents in early 2027.

This all comes after real estate developer Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield and development/construction company Focus partnered together to take on transformative efforts at Westfield Old Orchard.

Westfield Old Orchard features over 150 retailers, dining options and event spaces including Louis Vuitton, Bloomie’s, Bar Siena and Tory Burch. More information can be found here.
