Last-minute road trip ideas: Tips from the Illinois Office of Tourism

CHICAGO — Some students returned to school this week, while others are enjoying the final days of summer.

But there’s still time for a last-minute road trip with the family.

Marla Cichowski, with the Illinois Office of Tourism , joined WGN’s Evening News at 4 p.m. to discuss a few ideas for a fun road trip with the family before the kids head back to school and the summer ends.

Illinois destinations the state’s Office of Tourism says to consider include:

• A road trip down Great River Road
• White Pines Forest State Park
• Shawnee National Forest
• Galena’s Historic Main Street
