UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. — A water main break on University Parkway west of Pinewoods Court, near Governor’s State University, sent water up to 30 feet in the air on Friday afternoon.

Crews from the utility Aqua Water were called to the break at about 3:30 p.m.

A statement from the utility said: “Aqua has detected a water main break around 3 p.m. today causing a temporary loss of water to approximately 36 customers in University Park. We are making repairs and will continue to keep our customers updated as the repairs are completed.”

The view from WGN’s SkyCam 9 showed the water was off at about 5 p.m.

No other information was immediately available.
