6 injured in crash involving Pace bus in Zion

ZION, Ill. — Six people were taken to the hospital Wednesday following an accident in Zion involving a Pace bus.

According to the Zion Fire Department, rescue crews were called to the area of 22nd Street and Joppa Avenue around 2:30 p.m. for reports of an accident.

Upon arrival, first responders determined six people required transport to area hospitals.

Witnesses said the accident involved an SUV and a Pace bus.

Emergency crews from several neighboring communities including Waukegan and Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin assisted in the response.
