    Man critically wounded in shooting at gas station on South Side

    CHICAGO — A 35-year-old man was critically wounded in a shooting at a gas station on the city’s South Side.

    The shooting happened around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 4700 block of South Michigan Avenue. Police said a 35-year-old man was standing at the gas station when three offenders approached him.

    One of them pulled out a handgun and fired shots, striking the 35-year-old twice in the abdomen. According to police, the offenders fled the scene.

    The victim was treated by the Chicago Fire Department and then transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.

    No one is in custody. Area One Detectives are investigating.
