    Ceremony held Wednesday to honor fallen CFD Lt. Kevin Ward

    CHICAGO — A ceremony was held Wednesday to remember a Chicago firefighter who died in the line of duty.

    Lt. Kevin Ward was one of the three firefighters injured while responding to a house fire in the city’s Norwood Park neighborhood in August of 2023.

    He died a fews weeks later at Loyola Medical Center, surrounded by family.

    CFD lieutenant dies following Northwest Side fire earlier this month

    A badge honoring Ward will be added to the memorial wall at the Quinn Fire Academy.

    A brick dedication will also be held at the firefighter memorial park near McCormick Place.
