Prime Tacos owners Anthony Solis and Eric Cardenas offer a look at what to expect during the 11th annual Lakeview Taco Fest

CHICAGO — Food, music, drinks and fun are returning to the North Side this weekend for the 11th annual Lakeview Taco Fest.

The annual event runs from at 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in the 3500 block of North Southport Avenue between Addison and Roscoe.

The event will feature tacos from 14 local restaurants as they face off to find out who serves up Chicago’s best taco.

Vendors at the event will also compete for the title of “Critics Choice Best Taco,” which will be awarded on the Luche Libre stage at 4:45 pm. on Saturday.

Among the vendors will be Prime Tacos owners Anthony Solis and Eric Cardenas who joined WGN-TV on Saturday morning to show off what they will be serving up this year.

Alongside the food and drinks, the event will feature several performances from a handful of artists on both days, as well as lucha libre matches and activities for kids.

“We are thrilled to bring Lakeview Taco Fest back for its eleventh year, “Becca Girsch, Executive Director of the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce, said. “Thanks to all fest attendees, the suggested gate donation helps keep this annual fest strong for all to enjoy. The donations benefit the invaluable programs and services of the Friends of Lakeview.”

The event is free to attend, but organizers say a $10 suggested donation for the event benefits the Friends of Lakeview.
