Search underway for teen girl missing from North Side for nearly 3 months

CHICAGO — Authorities are offering new details on the search for a teen girl who police say has been missing for nearly three months.

According to Chicago police, 17-year-old Precious Ayeni has been missing from her Rogers Park home since June 12.

Officers said Ayeni may also frequent areas around DePaul University but did not say what campus.

The missing teen, who stands 5-foot-4 and weighs around 115 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes.

A photo provided by Chicago police shows Ayeni with earrings, but it is unclear if she had any at the time of her disappearance.

Authorities notified the public about Ayeni’s disappearance in a news release on Sunday afternoon but did not say what she was last seen wearing or provide details on her last known whereabouts.
