Chicago businesses targeted in multiple burglary incidents

CHICAGO – The Chicago Police Department is investigating numerous business burglaries that have happened over the last few days.

Police said the burglaries happened at the following times and locations:

• 200 block of West Lake St. Sunday, August 31 at midnight and Monday, September 2 at 6:00 A.M.
• 2000 block of North Lincoln Ave. Sunday, September 1 at 2:00 A.M. and 7:30 A.M.
• 1600 block of West Chicago Ave Tuesday, September 3 at 6:45 A.M. and Wednesday, September 4 at 6:47 A.M.
• 1700 block of West Chicago Ave. Wednesday, September 4 at 3:20 A.M.
• 1700 block of West Chicago Ave. Wednesday, September 4 at 4:13 A.M.
• 100 block of West Hubbard St. Wednesday, September 4 at 3:48 A.M.
• 1900 block of West Chicago Ave Wednesday, September 4 at 4:19 A.M
• 2000 block of North Halsted St. Thursday, September 5 at 2:59 A.M.
• 2000 block of North Orchard St. Thursday, September 5 at 3:12 A.M.
• 3000 block of North Southport St. Thursday, September 5 at 3:22 A.M

In each incident, the suspects smashed front glass windows or doors to get inside. Once inside, they took safes, register drawers, electronics, money, and large amounts of clothing and money.

Police are searching for four suspects in total. They are described as men and women who wore black hooded sweatshirts, black ski masks, black pants, and dark olive green colored beanie hats.

The vehicles used in the burglaries were a dark Jeep Cherokee and a gray Audi SUV.
