    Man charged with murder in fatal shooting of Glenwood liquor store employee

    GLENWOOD, Ill. — A man has been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of a liquor store employee in Glenwood.

    The Glenwood Police Department announced Wednesday 27-year-old Antonio D. Diggines of Calumet City has been charged with 1st degree murder.

    Naveen Singh, 52, of Chicago Heights, was working Monday in Emporium Liquors, located in the 300 block of East Glenwood Lansing Road. Police say Diggines entered the store around 6:45 p.m. and got into an argument with Singh. Police said Diggines pulled out a gun and is accused of shooting Singh.

    Police said Diggines has been transfered to the courthouse in Markham for a detention hearing.
