    Chicago man charged in South Barrington home invasions

    SOUTH BARRINGTON, Ill. — A Chicago man on Thursday was hit with felony charges in connection with at least two home invasions earlier in the week.

    Matthew P. Miller, 35, faces one count of home invasion and one count of attempt residential burglary, South Barrington Police Chief Michael Garrison said in a release.

    Miller was arrested early Monday after a 2.5 hour standoff with authorities that followed at least two break-ins in the suburb northwest of Chicago.

    Officers investigating home invasion see neighbors fleeing another

    Home Invasion is a Class X Felony. If convicted, Miller may face a sentence between six and 30 years in prison. Residential Burglary is a class 1 felony that carries a maximum sentence of four to 15 years.
