Man, 54, found dead on sidewalk in Chicago Lawn neighborhood

CHICAGO — A 54-year-old man was found fatally shot on the city’s Southwest Side.

According to police, the discovery was made on the 6500 block of South Claremont in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood just after 1 a.m. Wednesday. The man was found on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

No one is in custody. Area One Detectives are investigating.

I used to live on 61 St. and Claremont, the crime around there is real!! There were a lot of shootings at night and robberies.
