    Felony charges filed against Wisconsin man accused of sexually abusing child in Fox Lake over 2 decades ago

    FOX LAKE, Ill. — Felony charges have been filed against a Wisconsin man accused of sexually abusing a child in Fox Lake more than two decades ago.

    According to officials from the Fox Lake Police Department, 78-year-old Arthur Jenkins was indicted by a grand jury in Lake County on 11 counts of possession of child pornography and six counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under 13.

    The charges were handed down after an investigation surrounding the alleged discovery of child pornography in Jenkin’s home in Bristol, Wisconsin, in late January.

    Police said around 4 p.m. on Jan. 21, officers were notified about the discovery of various media containing child pornography by a resident who was cleaning Jenkin’s home.

    78-year-old Arthur Jenkins was indicted by a grand jury in Lake County on 11 counts of possession of child pornography and six counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under 13.

    Following an investigation, it was determined that the pornography had allegedly been produced by Jenkins while he was living in the 200 block of Orchard Place in Fox Lake between October 2001 and June 2002.

    Police later identified and spoke with the sole victim.

    A little over a week later, on Jan. 29, Fox Lake police and Kenosha County deputies interviewed Jenkins at his home, where he was subsequently arrested for possession of child pornography.

    On Sept. 11, 2024, the Lake County States Attorney’s office presented the evidence to a grand jury which later issued the indictment.

    Jenkins is currently being held at the Kenosha County Jail and authorities in Lake County are now working through the extradition process to bring him before the Lake County Courts.
