Chicago police seeking 4 males who broke into residence where 2 girls were inside in Woodlawn neighborhood

CHICAGO — Chicago police are looking for four males who broke into a residence where two girls were inside Wednesday night in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the city’s South Side.

According to police, officers responded to shots fired a little before 7:30 p.m. in the 6600 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue. A preliminary investigation showed that four unidentified males had entered a residence where two minor females were inside.

Police say the offenders entered through the front door and took multiple items from the apartment before fleeing. Further investigation revealed the offenders discharged a weapon outside the residence before entering, police say.

Scanner audio reviewed by WGN indicates police were alerted via ShotSpotter to the sound of 16 rounds fired in the area.

There were no injuries reported, and police say nobody is in custody. Area One detectives are investigating.
