Woman found shot to death on sidewalk near CHA building on South Side

CHICAGO — A woman was found shot to death on a sidewalk near a Chicago Housing Authority public housing building on the city’s South Side.

The shooting happened around 2:40 a.m. Wednesday near the Dearborn Homes on the 0-100 block of West 27th Street.

Police said a woman was discovered on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the neck. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

No further details have been provided at this time. The woman’s identity has not yet been released.

No one is in custody. Area Three Detectives are investigating.
