    54-year-old man critically shot while driving on South Side

    CHICAGO — A 54-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot while driving on the city’s South Side.

    The shooting happened around 6:30 a.m. Monday on the 7800 block of South Greenwood in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.

    Police said the man told authorities he was driving when an offender opened gunfire.

    The man sustained gunshot wounds about his body and was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition.

    Shooting leaves man wounded, ends in crash, trail of debris on Lower West Side, Chicago police say

    No other injuries were reported.

    No one is in custody at this time. Area Two Detectives are investigating.

    This is so fukn sad and ridiculous. It ain't even safe to drive anymore because you're taking chances.... they doing too much and they are getting away with too much!.... I stay in the house as it is don't go anywhere except to the doctors via Lyft but hell it's gonna get to the point that I'mma be scared to ride in a car, I stopped taking the bus four years ago. I don't ride the bus for nothing.
