CHICAGO — A 7-year-old boy and his uncle were critically wounded while inside of a residence Monday night in West Pullman due to a drive-by shooting.

Just after 9:05 p.m., CPD said the boy, 7, and a man, 27, were inside of a home in the 11600 block of South Yale.

Unknown suspects in a white Audi fired shots from the street, striking the boy in the back. He also sustained a graze wound to the head and was transported n critical condition.

The grandmother of the boy and mother of the man, Rosie Liggins, spoke with WGN News and said the family just returned to the home with a pizza before the shooting.

“My son being shot. Blood everywhere. My grandson laying on the dining room floor he had been shot. Bullets everywhere, holes all in the wall, all in the windows,” Liggins said. “Just a whole bunch of chaos.”

She said her grandson is in a fighter.

“His right lung is now half of a lung and his left lung is partially gone at the top. But he’s stable on a ventilator,” Liggins said. “So far, he’s a fighter, that’s my tiger. He’s the littlest thing ever and he’s a fighter. He’s going to get through this.”

The man was shot in the chest and right arm and was also transported in critical condition.

No one is in custody. Anyone with information can submit an anonymous tip at cpdtip.com .
