CHICAGO (WGN) — A Chicago man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly killed a 34-year-old man on the city’s West Side in early September.

Ashanti Randolph, 29, was charged with one count each of first-degree murder and aggravated assault/discharge of a firearm/motor vehicle.

Randolph was arrested by members of the Chicago Police Department and the US Marshals’ Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force on Monday in the 7200 block of South Shore Drive after he was identified as the offender who, on Sept. 1, shot and killed a 34-year-old man in the 1000 block of West Lake Street — the city’s West Loop neighborhood.

The 34-year-old victim’s identity has yet to be released.

Ohio man, 21, charged after cache of guns found inside rooms at Chicago’s Trump Tower

Randolph was scheduled for a detention hearing Wednesday, Oct. 9.
