Police in west suburban Geneva issued a reminder to residents on Thursday: lock your vehicles.

The notice comes after multiple car burglaries overnight in the Fisher Farms subdivision.

According to police, 13 vehicles fell victim to theft in the early morning of Oct. 10:

    • Four incidents on Nelson Drive (400 and 500 blocks)
    • Three incidents on Cannon Drive (400 and 600 blocks)
    • Two incidents on Lorraine Circle (2500 and 2600 blocks)
    • Two incidents on Fieldstone Drive (3100 and 3200 blocks)
    • One incident on Hillcrest Road (3200 block)
    • One incident on Larsdotter Lane (200 block)

Geneva police said deputies in Kane County took a man into custody on unrelated charges who, according to the department, possessed items connected to the various car burglaries overnight.

Authorities used this incident to remind locals to remove valuables from their vehicles and ensure all windows and doors are locked.

Police ask anyone with additional information to call (630) 232-4736.

I never lock my doors if they're going to steal they are going to steal. I rather save the window I've had them leave pieces of broken spark plugs on my passenger seat that they where going to use to break the window.
