    CPD: Box containing remains found on sidewalk on West Side

    CHICAGO — An investigation is underway after a box containing remains was found on a sidewalk on the city’s West Side.

    According to Chicago police, the box was discovered around 6 p.m. Thursday in the 2600 block of West Taylor Street in the West Lawndale neighborhood.

    Officers said a witness called police just and told officers that they had found a box containing an unknown victim’s remains inside.

    It is unclear whether or not they are human remains.
