    Man shot in cheek inside home on South Side: police

    CHICAGO — A 49-year-old man was shot in the cheek inside a home on the city’s South Side.

    The shooting happened around 12:10 a.m. Friday on the 5700 block of South Michigan Avenue.

    Police said the man was inside a residence with four men, when one of them pulled out a handgun and shot the 49-year-old in the cheek.

    The offenders fled the scene, according to police.

    Boy, 8, shot inside South Side home; person in custody

    The man was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition.

    No one is in custody. Area One Detectives are investigating.
