Author Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodríguez discusses her new book ‘Tías & Primas: On Knowing and Loving the Women Who Raise Us’

CHICAGO — A new memoir is uncovering the untold stories of Latinas.

In “Tías & Primas: On Knowing and Loving the Women Who Raise Us,” author Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodríguez dives into the archetypes of grandmothers, aunts and cousins who serve as the backbone of her family from Nicaragua.

With her book, Mojica Rodríguez hopes to provide a deeper understanding of the pivotal role they play.

Back in September, Apple Books chose the book as a best-of-September book.

Mojica Rodríguez, who is also known for the works “For Brown Girls with Sharp Edges” and “Tender Hearts,” joined WGN News on Saturday morning to discuss the new book.
