If you’ve ever walked by a building and wondered what it looks like inside, there’s an event for you – Open House Chicago .

Hosted by the Chicago Architecture Center (CAC) , the weekend event, which takes place Oct. 19-20, is a free public festival that offers behind-the-scenes access to architecturally, historically and culturally significant sites throughout the city.

More than 40 site events and programs will be provided, including demonstrations, talks, and arts performances. This year, new sites include the Ramova Theatre in Bridgeport.

Adam Rubin, with the Chicago Architecture Center, joined WGN’s Evening News at 4 p.m. to discuss the event and the organization’s mission to inspire locals to discover why design matters.
