CHICAGO — A shooting at Delicias Mexicanas Restaurant in Little Village late Monday night left a 30-year-old man dead and an employee injured, Chicago police say.

Police say the 30-year-old man was trying to enter the restaurant in the 4100 block of West 26th Street around 11:30 p.m. when two males fired gunshots at him, hitting him multiple times in the head. The man was treated by Chicago Fire Department personnel, but police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Additionally, police say, a 27-year-old female employee was hit in the buttocks after shots went through the glass of the restaurant. She was treated by CFD and taken to an area hospital, where she was listed in serious condition.

Police collected evidence at the restaurant well into Tuesday morning. It’s not clear if the two offenders who fired shots had been chasing the 30-year-old victim before he got to the restaurant, nor has the victim’s identity been released.

WGN News was able to acquire surveillance video from the shooting. The time on the video is not correct, but it does show what appears to be a white SUV pull over with its hazards on, then two people jump out and run toward the restaurant.

Not long after the shooting, the surveillance video shows the two suspects take off, and employees flag down a police car on patrol in the area.

Police say nobody is in custody, and they have not put out a description of suspects. Area Four Detectives are investigating.
