Man dies after being shot in head, crashing car into tree on Northwest Side: CPD

CHICAGO — A man has died after being shot and crashing into a tree on the city’s Northwest Side.

The shooting happened around 2:53 a.m. Wednesday on the 5700 block of North Central Avenue in the Jefferson Park neighborhood.

According to police, officers responded to a call of a person shot and discovered a man, approximately 20-years-old, in the driver’s seat of a silver SUV that crashed into a tree.

Police said the victim had a gunshot wound to his head and was pronounced dead on the scene.

No one in custody and Area Five Detectives are investigating.
