CHICAGO — Two children were struck and injured Wednesday afternoon on a scooter in Grand Crossing.

At around 3:40 p.m., officers responded to the 6900 block of South Stoney Island on the report of two children struck.

Police believe a girl, 7, and a boy, 12, were traveling westbound on an electric scooter when they were struck in an intersection by a white van headed southbound.

The girl was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital in serious condition and the boy was transported in fair condition.

The driver remained on scene and was not injured. Not citations are being issued at this time.
