    Man killed after gunmen open fire on Far South Side

    CHICAGO — A man has died after two gunmen opened fire on the city’s Far South Side on Thursday morning.

    Chicago police said the deadly shooting unfolded just before 8 a.m. in the 8600 block of South Morgan Street, in Auburn Gresham.

    According to Chicago police, the victim, a 32-year-old man, was standing outside in the area when two unknown males approached and opened fire.

    Officers said the victim suffered several gunshot wounds to his chest and body and was taken to the hospital in grave condition. He later died from his injuries.

    Following the shooting, officers said the two gunmen got into a blue vehicle and fled the scene northbound.

    Authorities have not yet identified the individual killed and no arrests have been made.

    Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting and an investigation is underway.
