    Make A Wish Illinois raises funds to grant wishes for children battling serious illnesses

    CHICAGO – Chicago residents of all ages walked through the city Sunday to raise money to grant wishes for hundreds of local children battling serious illnesses.

    This year, former Wish recipients were among those participating in the Wish Walk fundraiser for Make A Wish Illinois.

    Sunday’s walk featured current Make A Wish kids, and Make A Wish kids now turned adults.

    Breast cancer survivors unite for East Chicago’s Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

    The goal of the walk was to raise $200,000 to continue making wishes come true for children fighting critical illnesses.

    In the next year, Make A Wish Illinois would like to grant the wishes of another 700 Illinois children.

    WGN’s Judy Wang was at Sunday’s walk and caught up with current Make A Wish kids, and Make A Wish kids who are now all grown up. Watch the full story in the video player above.
