    Elderly man struck, killed in Buffalo Grove

    BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. — An elderly man was struck and killed Monday morning in Buffalo Grove.

    Authorities were dispatched at around 8 a.m. to the intersection of Buffalo Grove Road and Larraway Drive on the report of a crash involving a pedestrian.

    Officers at the scene located an 87-year-old man suffering from significant injuries. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

    Police believe he was struck by a grey Toyota sedan traveling southbound on Buffalo Grove Road.

    The driver of the sedan, a 60-year-old woman, stayed at the scene and was transported for precautionary measures.

    SkyCam9 over the scene showed the sedan with front window damage and a shoe on the ground.

    No charges or citations have been filed at this time.
