3 killed, 1 seriously injured in Woodstock crash

WOODSTOCK, Ill. – Three people were killed and another person was seriously injured in a crash in Woodstock Sunday afternoon.

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District said its personnel, along with deputies from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, were sent to the 13400 block of Davis Road just after noon to investigate reports of a multivehicle crash involving entrapment. Firefighters arrived on scene and found one of the vehicles fully engulfed in flames.

While firefighters worked to prevent the fire from spreading to a nearby wooded area, additional crews worked to free a minor trapped inside a silver SUV as a result of the crash. The minor was seriously injured and flown via LifeNet to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, according to investigators.

Officials said after the flames were extinguished, two people were found inside a black two-door sedan and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the silver SUV was also pronounced dead at the scene.

A Jeep was also hit by debris during the crash, but all of its occupants were not injured.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
