(NEXSTAR) – U.S. para badminton player Miles Krajewski feels a sense of redemption after punching his ticket to the Paralympics in Paris this summer. The 18-year-old from Yankton, South Dakota just barely missed out on qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

“It hasn’t settled in quite yet. When I first found out, I was pretty stoked that I finally accomplished my dream,” Krajewski said.

He has been playing badminton since he was 7 years old and has earned medals in several world championships. Krajewski was born with achondroplasia, which is the most common form of dwarfism.

“I think right now, the nerves aren’t super high, but I think once it gets two-three weeks out from the Paralympics, the nerves will start setting in,” Krajewski said.

Krajewski, along with Jayci Simon, will represent Team USA in para badminton this summer.
