(NEXSTAR) – In his third Olympic appearance, Eli Dershwitz might need help with the local language when he competes in the Paris 2024 Games.

“French, not good. Spanish? Very good. But French, no bueno,” Eli joked.

Dershwitz won two individual NCAA titles while at Harvard and after graduating in 2019, he returned as an assistant coach.

In 2023, Dershwitz won the world championship in men’s individual sabre, joining foilist Miles Chamley-Watson as only the second American man to win an individual fencing world title.
