JENNINGS, La. ( KLFY ) — A 10-month-old girl is dead after being left in a hot car for about 90 minutes, authorities said.

Jennings Police received a call at approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday from a hospital in Jennings concerning a 10-month-old girl whose mother said the child had been in a hot car approximately 1 ½ hours.

The child died late Wednesday, police said.

Investigators interviewed the child’s mother who said she was called in to work and inadvertently left the child in the car while she was inside, officials said.

Charges have not yet been filed against the child’s mother, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
