    Three arrested in St. Bernard Parish forgery investigation

    ST. BERNARD PARISH, La. ( WGNO ) — Three men have been arrested in connection with a motor vehicle inspection certificate forgery investigation in St. Bernard Parish.

    The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that 54-year-old Elbert Allen Jr., 61-year-old Theodore Lenaris and 40-year-old Charles Bailey were arrested after agents allegedly found counterfeit and forged Louisiana and Texas Department of Motor Vehicles inspection certificates, Louisiana license plate registration stickers and blank temporary Louisiana license plates.

    According to the SBSO, the investigation yielded “more than 200 fictious state documents.”

    Allen faces 193 counts of forgery of a motor vehicle inspection certificate.

    Lenaris faces 16 counts of forgery of a motor vehicle inspection certificate.

    Bailey faces charges of forgery of a motor vehicle inspection certificate and possession of a firearm or carrying a concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies.
