    Status hearing delayed for Daniel Callihan in Brunett case

    TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. ( WGNO ) — A status hearing for Daniel Callihan, the man accused in the Brunett murder and abduction case, has been delayed.

    On Wednesday, Aug. 21, the Tangipahoa Parish District Attorney’s Office announced that the criminal case for Callihan has been continued until November.

    On June 13, 35-year-old Callie Brunett was found dead in her Loranger home and her two daughters, 3-year-old Erin and 6-year-old Jalie, missing.

    Callihan was arrested later that day in Jackson, Mississippi, where Erin was found dead, and Jalie was found alive.

    On June 20, a Tangipahoa Parish grand jury indicted Callihan on two counts of first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping of a child and second-degree kidnapping.

    Callihan is also facing charges in Mississippi in addition to federal charges .

    On Wednesday, Callihan was scheduled for a status hearing, but it was delayed until Nov. 4.
