    Watch: First wave of high school football scrimmages comes Wednesday night

    NEW ORLEANS — Tonight featured the first wave of high school football scrimmages in the New Orleans metro area.

    On the Northshore, St. Paul’s hosted John Curtis for their annual scrimmage. Less than four miles away at Jack Salter Stadium, Brother Martin battled the Covington Lions.

    Over on the Westbank, John Ehret and McDonogh 35 had their preseason scrimmage at Hoss Memtsas Stadium.

    Season 33 of WGNO’s Friday Night Football, presented by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, begins Friday night with a special tribute to WGNO Sports Director Ed Daniels.

    The 30-minute program begins at 11 p.m. on Nola 38 the CW. The replay follows at midnight on WGNO.
